Cucina Chatter
I discussed healthy lunches and a tie-in to the Jewish New Year with the start of the School Year and the start of fall holidays. It's a "new" time for many; may as well take advantage of that! Listen at

Also: Appearance on the Tim Quall Show!
(Delaware and Maryland viewing talk show)
I had a fabulous time on the show; even got to sign the wall! Tim was a great host and made me crack up laughing as he was interested in the size of the book and encouraged the audience to not eat when the read the book to lose weight or, to simply lift it a few times for a work out. haha... it's not that bad; flip through it - I made the font an easy read font which is important for baby boomers who read the book as well as being visually stress free. :)
It IS packed with info though!

Tea or "Finger Sandwiches" = Mind games!
OK, I'll admit it, they are not mind games all of the time. In fact, I've been known to love a good cucumber sandwich with a teacup of Earl Grey.
However, today on (radio) Cucina Chatter with Lorraine Ranalli, I discussed a few pitfalls.
#1. Serving size is small thus, people tend to eat more. If you eat more than four quarters, you are eating more than a sandwich.
#2. The variety. Though great for the palate, having too much competing food can cause digestive distress, bloating and gas. So often I hear "I guess the tea didn't agree with me" and I smile and know it was probably the combination of egg salad, chicken salad with walnut, cucumber salad, brie, cream cheese, salmon and lemon curd that really was the culprit grouping!
#3. Make a commitment! Tea sandwiches are meant to be a bridge before dinner, not a full meal. If you make a commitment to eat, then have them as a one group meal, all the same kind of sandwich, for easier digestion.
Enjoy and as always, moderation!
Artie Clear Sports Show, August 17th, 2010
Had a great time talking to Artie Clear, one of the most impressive sportscasters I've ever met; his knowledge of sports is incredible!
Anyway, we discussed the importance of planning in your lifestyle food plan or diet, for daily life and pre and post work out. We discussed how there is really more tryptophan in a potato than in turkey and how there is more potassium in a potato than a banana.. so today's impromptu theme was the beauty that is the potato - haha.
We also discussed the importance of carbs...
Look for soon, on my forum (if not already there) a natural sports energy drink and also a natural and dairy free recovery drink.
His site will carry these two recipes also...

What a great show and great guy!
With Steve Bryant, WGMD radio: August 2nd 2010
Spotlight on health and immigration issues. I spoke about the propaganda of reform (regardless of where you are politically, "reform" means discussion but lends itself to the public and media to mean problem solving; until the problem is solved, there is nothing but discussion)... the matters that need to be focused on for health and wellness of our citizens and immigrants as well, as well as the financial burden we have in trying to do too much, with too little resources.
Free Radicals, July 27th w/the Cucina Chatter show
How Free Radicals are like Bar Vermin.
" Michele, you were a riot today on Cucina Chatter. I'll be working on my next blog post based on your analogy today between free radicals/bar vermin and anti-oxidants/enablers. That was classic! " Lorraine Ranalli, Radio Hostwww.CucinaChatter.com***
*OK so here is how I compared and explained in limited time... Think of your body as an awesome nightclub. Think of Free Radicals as the disgusting guy in the club. Anti-oxidants are strong and yet, attracted to Free Radicals. They seek each other out. You eat, drink and breathe toxins all the time, even in environmental pollution; this turns into really, free radicals. So, you need that many or more of anti-oxidants to attach to the free radicals (which they do) and escort them out. If the Free Radicals stay, they give you wrinkles, joint pain, can make you fat, lethargic, give you acne, promote disease, harm your immune system and more. You want them OUT.For Lorraine's show that is all things Italian; I explained that some staples of an Italian pantry are amazing for anti-oxidant health.TomatoesWheatOlive OilGrape (wine)So eat up! Just don't OVERdo it!
